WiFiDroid is the best. File transfer is fast. Still I could not drag folders to their destination. My browser does not support this function, files only. Can you mention browsers one is supposed to have? Those that make folder transfer work. I am on XP right now so that is also a limiting factor. Thank you.
Works very well with phone’s WiFi Hotspot feature. No need to have the internet data enabled. I realize not all phones have this feature.
And setting up a phone Hotspot is much easier on the phone. Basically a click to enable it will do. Connecting to Hotspot is also easier on a PC. It finds it as soon as Refresh Network List is clicked (from View Available Wireless Networks).
The beauty of this Server on a phone approach is that once the Server is a Hotspot then all devices with WiFi can connect to it without a router or a peer to peer setup.
Thank you for a very useful and general program.
*Notes:
+ With a USB cable connected to PC one does not see all the internal memory. With this Server both internal and removable memories are visible.
– The URL for internal and external memory access from the PC is, lets say, rather intriguing. One needs to know the paths very well and what is the relationship. If you are familiar with the weird path names of Android system (that is there are many different path names that get you to the same folder! ); then in a matter of less than a minute all will be clear. Else give it a half an hour trial and error to get to some folders.
Dear Aman,
WifiDROID connects well with Wifi enabled laptops.
IT DOES NOT CONNECT TO PCs using Wifi Routers.
I use D-Link DSL2750 modem+router and my Android mobile does not connect to PC.
